Linkin Park - What I've done

LINKIN PARK - WHAT I'VE DONE
In this farewell
There's no blood
There's no alibi
'Cause I've drawn regret
From the truth
Of a thousand lies
So let mercy come
And wash away...
What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done
Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands
Of uncertainty
So let mercy come
And wash away...
What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done
For What I've done
I'll start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I'm forgiving what I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done
What I've done
Forgiving what I've done

This song speaks of the feelings of guilt that accumulate as we live our lives, often meaning well, but finding out the truth that we live, is based on a thousand lies. There is a deep longing for spiritual forgiveness, from our Creator, from the God who is totally righteous.  We all long for mercy to wash away, and cleanse us from the mistakes and sins of our lives.
Good news can be found 'At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, decieved and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us , not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.' Titus 3:3-7
